Job Title: Product Development Specialist (Cards)

Position Location:    1000 St. Albans Drive, Raleigh NC 27609

 

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.5:30 p.m.

 

Your impact:

 

As a Product Development Specialist focused on debit and credit cards, you'll have the opportunity to use your strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and product knowledge to data mine our existing databases and vendor databases to interpret the trends. You'll then have the opportunity to use your communication skills to present your findings to management. As an integral part of the team, you'll utilize your previous card porffolio experience to influence, support, and lead departmental initiatives varying in size and complexity.

 

Our Product Development group leverages ideas, insights, research and trends to propose new meaningful products and/or enhance existing products to meet our members needs.   As a Product Specialists, your intimate knowledge of industry trends, portfolio trends, and product knowledge research will be used to formulate and recommend captivating products.

 

The contributions you can anticipate making:

 

Analyzing key issues that affect the performance of each of our product lines and any ancillary products that affect card portfolio performance, and then creating actionable leads that translate to deepening member relationships in those areas.

 

Collecting research on consumer behavior and translating this information into analytical reports on growth opportunities, especially with credit and debit cards. Useful concepts will include anticipatory analytics, moment of truth, life stages, choice behavior, and regression analysis so we may price loans more effectively.

 

Developing and maintaining processes to increase utilization of credit and debit cards so that our campaigns are efficient and help reach Visa and organizational growth goals.

 

Working with internal and external partners to develop a pricing model that includes true cost figures, profitability estimates, market projections, behaviors, and attributes that will indicate a riskier or more stable applicant than traditional models predict.

 

Collating market intelligence to define niches in which we can gain business and better serve our members. Examples of data sources are Experian, Equifax, and Credit Union peer reporting.

 

Organizing and priming changes with third party card processors and vendors.

 

Creating and maintaining data and reports necessary to manage the quantitative and qualitative performance goals established for products as well as reports to monitor trends, performance and return of campaigns and/or promotions conducted by our dept.

 

Working within the department to develop manuals and process steps with an overall goal of securing a strong contingency plan and backup process so the flow of data and information is always readily available.

 

Preparing ad-hoc reports and monthly recaps in a Word or PDF document, highlighting qualitative and quantitative trends. Examples include: Quarterly reporting and monthly production of board reports for leadership.

 

Supporting, processing, and leading responsibilities related to key activities, projects, and initiatives carried out within the department and organization.

Participating in committees and work groups.

Experience:   Three years of experience in generating ideas that have led to card portfolio growth with utilization and acquisition.

 

Experience working with a card processor preferred

 

Experience with card portfolio analysis and data mining preferred

 

Experience with loan lead generation preferred

 

Experience with efficiency creation and project management preferred

 

Education: Related bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
